Privacy Policy

At Ocho B.V., we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it when you use our apps, including Photo Restore, Sudoku a Day, Peek Message, Contacts on Map, and Backgammon.

1. What we collect
We only collect minimal data necessary to provide and improve our services:
- App Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the service (e.g., feature usage, session duration).
- In-App Purchases/Subscriptions: Transaction data required to process purchases and subscriptions securely through the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).
- App-Specific Data:
• Photo Restore: Uploaded photos and restoration preferences you choose when using the service.
• Sudoku a Day: Game progress and settings stored locally on your device.
• Peek Message: Messages are stored only on your device; we do not store or analyze message content.
• Contacts on Map: Location data is only processed to display your contacts on a map. We do not store or track this information after use.
We do not collect personal information beyond what's necessary to operate each app, and we do not track your location or store sensitive data unrelated to app functionality.

2. How we use your data
We use collected data to:
- Enable core app functionality.
- Process in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- Improve performance and user experience.
- Analyze general usage trends through anonymous analytics.

3. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Service providers process information needed to operate the features you use, including app stores, cloud storage and purchase services. Shared features also make the relevant information available to the people you play or share with. The Backgammon-specific details below describe its use of these services.

4. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, ensuring it is only used for the purposes outlined above.

5. Your choices
Uninstalling an app removes its local app data, but does not necessarily delete cloud records, backups, shared information or purchase records, and does not cancel subscriptions. Use the relevant app and Apple Account controls for cloud storage, sharing and subscriptions. Contact hi@ocho.so for help with access, correction or deletion requests. We may need information to identify the records concerned; please do not send account passwords or payment-card details.

Backgammon

Backgammon is ad-free. It does not include an advertising or cross-app tracking SDK. You can play computer and same-device games without creating an Ocho account. Online features use your Apple services. The general references to app analytics above do not mean Backgammon includes a separate usage-analytics SDK.

Saved games and iCloud The app stores game progress, move history, preferences and a game library on your device. When iCloud is available, it uses Apple's CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage to synchronize supported game data and preferences. Private friend games use shared iCloud records accessible to their participants. Records can include the board, moves, scores, participant identifiers and game-library metadata. Local copies help you resume games; archiving or removing a game from My Games is not the same as deleting every remote copy.

Game Center and SharePlay Game Center handles player identity, invitations, turn-based matches, achievements and challenge scores. Information shown through Game Center depends on your Apple settings and the feature used. The app also keeps an account-separated achievement ledger in private iCloud storage. SharePlay exchanges session and game-update messages with participants in an existing shared game; joining a call alone does not grant access to that game's iCloud records. Apple handles FaceTime audio and video.

Contacts and notifications If you grant Contacts access, the app looks up matching contacts on your device to show familiar names for invitations. It does not upload your address book to Ocho or RevenueCat. Apple sharing services handle invitation recipients. Turn alerts use Apple notifications. For iCloud turn alerts, a public CloudKit record contains a hashed game channel, a revision and Apple-generated record metadata, including the creator's opaque iCloud identifier. Authenticated users of the app's CloudKit container can read those signal records; they do not contain the board, moves, contact details or raw match identifier. Optional local turn reminders are scheduled on your device. You can change notification and Contacts permissions in Settings.

Purchases Apple processes payments. RevenueCat processes purchase history, transaction and entitlement information associated with its generated app-user identifier to validate Pro access, restore purchases and handle subscription changes. The app does not send your Game Center identity or address book to RevenueCat. Ocho does not receive your full payment-card details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy for their processing.

Retention and your choices Local and cloud game records can remain available after a game ends so that you can resume or review your history. Uninstalling Backgammon does not erase iCloud, Game Center, another participant's copy, or Apple/RevenueCat purchase records. Manage iCloud storage, Game Center and subscriptions using Apple's controls; availability of individual deletion controls varies by service. Contact hi@ocho.so for help with data requests and identifying which service holds the information. Purchase records may need to be retained for entitlement recovery, accounting or legal requirements. Deleting data does not itself cancel an Apple subscription.

6. Updates to this policy
